PNAU
|
Very rarely has any sort of emerging band received the acclaim and privilege awarded to Pnau over the past years. It's like they passed straight through the pages of the book on how things were meant to be done, and their ascent has been astounding. Pnau's success has been as deserved as it has been anomalous, and the band members themselves as curious as they are talented. Pete Mayes and Nick Littlemore, the Enfants Terrible of the Australian Music industry, have won the respect of their peers and the loyalty of their fans by consistently producing simple, intelligent hooks, fat sounds, and awesome imagery. Their long awaited third album 'PNAU' is an admission of sorts; Music is bigger than any one person and connected to absolutely everything. VIEW MYSPACE PAGE |

Melbourne indie champions BRITISH INDIA continue their ascent.
They’ve sold out shows wherever they have touched down on the Thieves Album Launch Tour; and packed Splendour In The Grass’ Supertop mainstage to
capacity at the criminally early time of 1.30pm.
“British India quite simply Make Sense Live. …they are loud, brash, tight as a vice
and have the crowd eating out of their hands. …majestic and fierce.”
– Rave Magazine, Splendour In The Grass 2008 review
“…not much under the Supertop today will match the raw power and energy of this
talented four-piece. They tear through a better than flawless set…”

The Getaway Plan
|
2008 has been a wild ride for The Getaway Plan. Since the release of their debut album ‘Other Voices,
Other Rooms’ and it’s breakthrough hit single ‘Where The City Meets The Sea’, these four young
Melbourne boys have sold out two national tours, become one of the most played Australian acts on
radio and TV, and made themselves a household name with their unique brand of alternative rock. In
November they will head out on their biggest headline tour yet in support of their latest single
‘Shadows’.
After debuting at #14 in the ARIA Charts, and having a Feature Album on Triple J, the early signs
were that ‘Other Voices, Other Rooms’ was going to make The Getaway Plan one of 2008’s great
Australian success stories. But no one could have predicted the attention the band would draw upon
the release of the album’s second single ‘Where The City Meets The Sea’. The track has been on high
rotation at Nova and Triple J, with it’s video being in the most played on Channel V for months. It
has since crossed over to Triple M and the Fox Network’s Hot 30 countdown, and was performed live
on Rove in late July to an overwhelming response. The ‘Where The City Meets The Sea’ tour saw the
band sell out close to 25 dates across the country, solidifying the band’s growing fanbase with one of
the most elaborate local rock shows of the year.

Behind Crimson Eyes
|
Having spent the last 12-months focusing on the writing and recording of their soon to
be released sophomore album, Behind Crimson Eyes have managed to squeeze in
national tours alongside rock and heavy greats; Disturbed, Bullet For My Valentine and
Iron Maiden, as well as an East Coast run on the Big Day Out tour.
The result is the light to A Revelation For Despair’s dark. A contrast. A realization that
raw honesty does not always manifest itself in ‘despair’ and that exposing the bare
bones sometimes turns up a ‘revelation’ of another sort: triumph through adversity.
“This is a phrase we believe best describes our band.” Explains vocalist Josh Stuart.
“Our new material is still as uncompromised as on A Revelation For Despair, but we feel
that we have now reconnected with the reason we play music: fun. We realize that this
was our childhood dream to play in a touring band and that as a byproduct we should
be having as much fun as we can every day that we get to live this dream.”
While ‘living the dream’ is certainly a more lighthearted philosophy for Behind Crimson
Eyes, their music has lost none of it’s relevance in the translation. Addicted is the first
hard-hitting single from the March 2009 release. A taste of what’s yet to come…

Mammal
|
A visceral alloy of prog, punk and raw rock, Mammal are forward-thinking and forward
moving. This is a band that is seriously going places, and fast.
Livewire four-piece Mammal are already taking Australian stages like a hot-blooded revolu-
tion. And for all the right reasons. In an industry typiied by manufactured hype, manage-
ment nepotism and the transparent agendas of major labels, Mammal are a rarity. Inde-
pendent, loud and proud, and making a big noise via word-of mouth alone.
Like some scarecrow prophet, vocalist Ezekiel Ox spits out his passionate diatribe with a
wild-eyed maniacal zeal, fusing rapid-ire rhetoric and soaring melody, while guitarist Pete
Williamson lays down the sort of riffage that have any punter’s ist unconsciously forming
the horned salute. And throughout, the lock-steady rhythm-section of bassist Nick Adams
and drummer Zane Rosanoski deliver the kind of grooves you can feel in your gut.
Having kicked off the year with Big Day Out and Crusty Demons Night of World Records
festival shows, during June/July 2008 Mammal toured the nation armed with a fresh single
off their forthcoming album ‘The Majority’.

D'opus & Roshambo
|
If lyrical currency counts for anything in hip hop, D’Opus & Roshambo have a Million Dollar Bill in their debut album. After two
years locked inside their Canberra studio the boys have released The Switch, a record as anticipated as an act of Parliament.
D’Opus (Ross Garrett) has brought a heavy arsenal of artist collaboration to the album. Before fusing with Roshambo (Rowan Thomson)
in 2004, he’s shared stages with the Jungle Brothers, DJ Q-Bert, Mr. Thing and De La Soul. As a duo the pair has played Stonefest,
Corinbank Festival and Trinity Bar Block Party.
Since releasing their celebrated EP The Question, which rippled through the national dials of Triple J and community radio nation
wide, D’Opus and Roshambo have dedicated themselves to producing a sound that would break Australian hip hop convention. The Switch
is an album that combines meticulous production and clarity of vision with a narration on the darker reality of Australian life
through a melodic mix of jazz, funk, old school hip-hip and drum ‘n’ bass rhythms.

The Frets
|
The Frets combine a unique mixture of Urban, Acoustic sounds with band intensity creating a fresh direction in pop. Influenced by jazz, Funk and
Alternative Rock, The Frets take these elements and weave them together to form original songs that are slightly left of field, but keep their
mainstream appeal. Beginning as an acoustic duo in high school, Anna and Caitlin soon realised they were somewhat limited and began the search for
band members. They found Amy and Chris at Claremont College, who brought with them a whole new dynamic that completely re-vamped The Frets sound.
They worked hard at building up a solid repertoire of original music, and in early 2007 the Frets made their first appearance as a full band at the
Lark Distillery, playing a semi acoustic, 30 minute set.
